About Yong Zeeb’s Black Belt Academy
We take great pride in the fact that Senior Master Yong Zeeb has taught over 10,000 members in the Bossier/Shreveport area since first opening his doors in 1987. We have been able to continue to successfully grow our schools because our instructors, students, and parents join together to achieve our mission of teaching self-defense while fostering the personal development of each and every Yong Zeeb’s Black Belt Academy student.
We aim to help our students develop self confidence and self esteem through training. Our Lil' Dragon Program caters to kids age 3 half-5 and our Karate for Kids Program is centered around kids age 6-12. Each student comes to study martial arts for different reasons, and with varying degrees of ability. Instructors help students learn at their own pace to help them reach their own personal goals.
Although our focus is on the kids, parents are welcome and strongly encouraged to take classes with their children through our Family Program. That's because we know that strong families are held together by common bonds. Taekwondo training gives families an incredible opportunity to strengthen those bonds while learning and growing together.
We also want everyone to get involved because we believe that everyone has something to teach. From the 3-year old bundle of optimism and energy to the 62 year-old student who inspires us all to never give up!
As well as being a great place for families, our academy is a great place to build lasting friendships. We strive to build strong relationships, improve family dynamics and provide greater opportunities for communication and quality time together while fostering the development of integrity, self-control, confidence, perseverance, respect, loyalty and self-esteem. We teach our students to believe in themselves and to face new challenges with an "I Can Do It" attitude. We encourage all of our students to take the values we instill in them out into the community and set a positive example for those around them.
At Yong Zeeb’s Black Belt Academy we believe that quality students can only come from quality instruction. That's why we carefully select our training staff and hold them to stringent standards for excellence in ongoing training, performance, instruction and attitude. It is a great honor to share knowledge and our instructors take their role seriously. Each of our nationally certified instructors are graduates of intensive training, and their methods are constantly improved and updated through continued training with Senior Master Yong Zeeb.
